St Austell’s brewing and bottling manager, Rob Orton is hosting a virtual ‘meet the brewer’ event this Friday 24th April, at 7.30pm. He will be hosting the Q&A and guided beer tasting live, on the St Austell Brewery Facebook page.
During the first one-hour session, Rob will be talking beer lovers through the flavour profiles, brewing process and suggested food pairings of three different beers: Proper Job IPA, Proper Black IPA and Big Job DIPA. There will also be opportunities to ask Rob questions throughout the tasting.
Rob Orton says: “In these disconnected times, a live tasting is the perfect opportunity for local communities, friends and family to “gather” together and learn more about Britain’s national drink – beer!
“It may not be quite the same as a visit to your local but while pubs are temporarily closed, beer fans can still stay connected by socialising from their sofas with a bottle in hand.”
For anyone interested in tasting during the session, Proper Job IPA is available in supermarkets nationwide, as well as St Austell Brewery’s online shop, which is still delivering across the UK (www.staustellbreweryshop.co.uk). Proper Black and Big Job are also available in Tesco stores throughout the South West.
With increased precautionary measures in place, St Austell Brewery is continuing to brew Tribute, Proper Job and Korev for supermarkets nationwide, throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. The company is also delivering beers to customer’s homes across the UK, via its online shop service. The brewery has seen a high increase in the demand for its packaged beers, since pubs closed across the UK. In the past fortnight alone, more than half a million bottles of Proper Job, have been brewed and bottled.
