Robinsons Visitors Centre wins top award

Robinsons Visitors Centre has been named the North West Visitors Attraction of the Year in the Going Places UK Tourism Awards.

Opening in 2013, Robinsons Visitors Centre has welcomed thousands of visitors to Stockport and through its doors to discover the history of Robinsons Brewery and uncover the secrets that have helped make Robinsons an award-winning family brewing dynasty since 1838.

Since opening, Robinsons Visitors Centre has conducted more than 2,800 tours across their state-of-the-art brew house and welcomed visitors from all corners of the world including Brazil, Canada, Australia, America, and Japan.

The Visitors Centre has also played host to many high-profile events including the launch of Robinsons and Iron Maiden’s globally successful TROOPER beer, Man Vs. Food events with Channel 4’s Sunday Brunch presenter and celebrity chef Simon Rimmer and several beer and spirit explorative events with ‘There’s A Beer for That’ and Drinks Enthusiast.

Simon Taylor, Retail Operations Manager for Robinsons Brewery said: “Our Visitors Centre is not just the story of our brewery but the story of British industry as a whole. We have been proud to share our story with thousands of visitors and give them an insight into what it takes to make our nation’s favourite drink.”

We really couldn’t have done it without our brilliant staff, chefs and, of course, our customers.”

Since opening in 2013, our Visitors Centre has played a vital role in not just showcasing the rich history of our business but the history of Stockport as well. We are proud to contribute to the continued regeneration of Stockport Old Town and will continue, through our Visitors Centre and daily brewery tours, to educate visitors on the craftsmanship and lineage of our beers and our brewery.”
