Samuel Adams Blonde Ambition is the latest beer to appear as part of Cask Club, the new contemporary cask ale initiative launched earlier this month by Shepherd Neame, Britain’s oldest brewer.
Brewed to a recipe devised in conjunction with US craft pioneers the Boston Beer Company, Blonde Ambition (4.2% ABV) is a golden pale ale made from both US and UK Cascade hops.
Shepherd Neame head brewer Mike Unsworth said: “This beer originated as a result of our long standing relationship with Samuel Adams and the close collaborative work between us and our friends across the pond.
“Blonde Ambition is a pale golden ale delivering a notable citrus and grapefruit aroma. It’s a clean, refreshing beer which delivers a crisp, zesty flavor with citrus taste notes and mid-level bitterness on the finish.”
Blonde Ambition will be available throughout April. It will be followed in May by New Dawn Citrus Ale (3.5% ABV), a refreshing and light session ale with real citrus fruit. Further beers will then follow approximately every four weeks, among them collaborations with brewers from Finland, Italy, Sweden and, in 2020, another US brewer.
Cask Club was successfully launched at the start of March with the acclaimed Hop County pale ale.
As part of the Cask Club initiative, drinkers will be able to pick up a Cask Club passport at participating pubs, collecting a sticker each time they try a new ale. Those who complete the passport will be eligible for an exclusive Cask Club T-shirt. They will also be entered into a prize draw for a weekend getaway.
