Founder of New England’s Trillium Brewery named as BeerX UK 2020 Keynote speaker

The founder of one of America’s most influential breweries of the last ten years, and a front-runner of the craze for hazy New England IPAs, will deliver the Keynote speech at the UK’s biggest beer & brewing trade event – BeerX UK 2020.

Jean-Claude Tetreault (‘JC’) founded the Massachusetts-based Trillium brewery with wife Esther Tetreault in 2013 and has since seen a meteoric growth in demand for their ‘New England Farmhouse-style’ beers, particularly the now globally popular New England IPAs they brew.

Hosted by the Society of Independent Brewers, BeerX UK is the UK’s biggest beer and brewing trade event, taking place for a third year running at the ACC Exhibition Centre in Liverpool. The two day event will take place on Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th March 2020, with the Keynote taking place on the second day.

“I am delighted to be able to introduce JC as BeerX UK Keynote Speaker for 2020. Trillium’s impact on not just the US but the global beer scene cannot be overstated and in particular the growth in popularity of their hugely popular New England IPAs, which have changed the beer world forever and led to more and more brewers producing hazy, unfiltered, and hugely aromatic and flavoursome beers. I am sure that hearing about the successes, close-calls, and learnings from Trillium’s journey from a small independent craft brewery in Boston to a.Global name in quality craft beer will be hugely interesting to all the brewers and industry professional attending this year’s BeerX UK in Liverpool” said James Calder, SIBA Chief Executive

Commenting on being named BeerX UK 2020 Keynote Speaker, JC Tetreault had this to say, “It’s an honour to be invited to present the keynote address at SIBA’s 40th anniversary conference. Over the past seven years since we opened our small brewery in Boston we have participated in and witnessed dramatic change in the craft beer industry that have affected our ever evolving strategy. I look forward to sharing the history of Trillium as a New England farmhouse inspired brewery and my personal experiences with an audience of fellow independent craft brewers.”

Jean-Claude “JC” Tetreault is the co-founder of Trillium Brewing Company. Trillium’s celebratory ales were first crafted to commemorate his marriage to co-founder, Esther Tetreault. This initial concept evolved into a lifestyle and dream to share, not only beer, but experiences with one another and their community. As a native of Massachusetts, JC strives to incorporate local crops, flavors, and partners into Trillium’s beer.  JC is passionate about producing beer with unwavering quality that can be shared in all aspects of your life.

BeerX UK is open to SIBA member and non-member breweries alike, as well as representatives from brewing industry businesses and the media. The event features a packed schedule of expert workshops and panel debates centred around beer and brewing, aimed at helping professional brewing businesses expand their knowledge and grow their businesses. Alongside this are various networking opportunities, an expanded exhibition from suppliers of products and services – plus a trade-only beer showcase exclusively featuring award winning independent craft beers in cask, keg, bottle & can.

2020 is a particularly special year for the event as it marks the 40th anniversary of SIBA (1980-2020) and as such there will be a special 40th Anniversary Celebration from 8-9pm both days, serving 5 beers, from the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s, and a brand new collaboration brew for 2020.

“SIBA are delighted to be celebrating our 40th Anniversary at BeerX UK and will be toasting to entering our 5th decade by serving beers with a recipe from each of the preceding four, and aptly, a New England style hazy IPA brewed to a brand new recipe for 2020 by nearby Love Lane Brewing” said James Calder, SIBA Chief Executive.
