‘Donate with Dizzy’ Fundraising Campaign

Robinsons Brewery, one of the UK’s largest and oldest independent family brewers, has announced that ‘Donate with Dizzy’ will return for a second year during June, July, and August, following the great success of last year’s campaign. Once again, Robinsons will pledge a charity donation of 5p from every pint of Dizzy Blonde beer sold from June to August 2017.

All of Robinsons’ pubs, their free trade customers, and national accounts are encouraged to take part in the campaign. Robinsons, as with last year, are funding the whole charity activity therefore no financial investment is required from their pubs. With this in mind, participation is a no brainer.

Gill Yates, Robinsons Brands Manager, explains why ‘Donate with Dizzy’ will be extended to 2017: “Following the inaugural success of last year’s fundraising campaign, ‘Donate with Dizzy’ has been in demand. Dizzy Blonde is perfect for this type of campaign because the pump clip is so very adaptable to the diverse charity designs that we have. There’s a special website called www.pimpmypumpclip.com which allows pubs to sign up for the activity, choose a charity of their choice, and then customise or ‘pimp’ the pump clip to reflect their chosen charity. The personalised pump clip is then posted direct to the pub and when the fundraising period is finished, the pub confirms how many pints of Dizzy Blonde they have sold. It’s that simple, and all for a great cause.”

Robinsons have officially partnered with St Ann’s Hospice (who deliver outstanding care and support to people living with or affected by life-limiting illnesses), and Global’s Make Some Noise (who support small but brilliant charities across the UK to help youngsters and their families living with illness, disability or lack of opportunity). However, the ‘Donate with Dizzy’ campaign is open to any charity of the pub’s choice, with a range of innovative pump clips to choose from: Mountain Rescue England and Wales, the RSPCA, a generic military, water rescue, medical, or research pump clip, St Ann’s Hospice, Global’s Make Some Noise, We Love Manchester and a plain Dizzy Blonde pump clip where pubs can add the name of their chosen charity to the front.

Jo Burton, Corporate Fundraiser for St Ann’s Hospice, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Robinsons Brewery and pubs. It’s such a fantastic way for local pubs and their customers to support St Ann’s. As a charity, we rely on support from our local communities to enable us to continue providing specialist palliative care for patients, and also to look after their loved ones and carers. We care for people from across Greater Manchester at a time when they need us most. We’ll certainly be calling in for a Dizzy Blonde soon.”

In light of the distressing attack that took place at Manchester Arena on 22nd May 2017, Robinsons immediately decided to add We Love Manchester as a nominated charity.

Gill continued: “Manchester is a big part of our heritage and our heartland. This is our way of working together to honour the victims and their families and hopefully raise some funds for a cause close to all of our hearts. With 5p in every pint going to charity, all of whose work is truly exceptional in serving the needs of the UK and many of our pubs, it gives a fresh meaning to responsible drinking. We’re thrilled to help make a difference.”

Pubs are encouraged to take part for the duration of the whole three months, although pub’s can join the campaign at any point during June, July and August. To find out more please visit www.pimpmypumpclip.com.
