The announcement of the Champion Beer of Britain, one of the most prestigious real ale competitions in the world, will be an exclusive highlight of the trade session taking place at the Great British Beer Festival on Tuesday 8th August at Olympia London.
Those attending the trade session will be the first to hear the announcement and will have the chance to speak with representatives from the winning breweries attending the event. More than 2,000 trade representatives have already requested their tickets, including more than 500 brewers from across the country.
The Champion Beer of Britain award is the ultimate honour for UK brewers and has helped put many into national spotlight. Judging the competition takes around a year, starting with individual nominations from CAMRA members and local and regional competitions before a day of rigorous judging at the Festival. All of the winning beers can be sampled at the Festival and will be identified by special pump clips throughout the week.
Ian Hill, Great British Beer Festival Organiser says: “We’re delighted to announce that visitors to the trade session will have the chance to be the first to hear which beer has been crowned the Champion Beer of Britain.
“The trade session provides a fantastic opportunity for people in the industry to meet, socialise, and network with others over some fantastic beers. To help attendees make the most out of the day, CAMRA will be providing special badges and offering networking support. We hope people in the trade will use the session to make contacts and friends, and we look forward to welcoming both new and familiar faces this year.”
The trade session is sponsored by Kegstar & Cask Marque this year. Trade representatives can register their attendance by visiting www.gbbf.org.uk/trade.
