Quality recognition for Saltaire Brewery

This month, Saltaire, one of Yorkshire’s favourite breweries, joined the small but growing group of SALSA plus Beer accredited breweries in our region in its first quality audit of this kind.

SALSA plus Beer accreditation is supported by Cask Marque and gives buyers and consumers confidence about the product they are buying.

Saltaire has built a reputation for brewing high quality beers but never before sought endorsement beyond the feedback of its customers. It is famous for producing firm favourites with wide appeal such as its Saltaire Blonde 4% ABV, available in cask and bottle.

Explaining why gaining SALSA certification was important to the Brewery, Managing Director Ewen Gordon said: “In an increasingly competitive industry we know how important consistency and quality is to our trade customers and every discerning beer drinker. This means that we consider every detail in the production of our beers and going for national recognition from SALSA made sense when our focus has always been aligned to the principles SALSA stands for.

“Achieving the accreditation on our first audit is great recognition of our high standards and focus on quality and consumer safety.”

A SALSA plus Beer audit has been developed in association with Cask Marque, to offer small and micro-sized brewers a standard tailored to the scale and structure of their operation and to allow approved members to approach buyers with reinforced confidence with their craft ales and beers.  The audits are undertaken by specially trained auditors with extensive experience of the brewing industry.
