Pub operator and brewer Brakspear is extending its popular Ale Trail beyond its Henley-on-Thames heartland for the first time with the launch of a Brighton trail to drive traffic into its five pubs in the city, encourage trial of its ales and reward loyal drinkers.

 The Brighton Ale Trail replicates the successful Henley Ale Trail and Country Ale Trails, with drinkers collecting stamps on their map every time they drink a pint of Brakspear ale in one of the pubs. With a fully-stamped map – two pints in each pub – drinkers can claim a free pint and an exclusive Brighton Ale Trail T-shirt from the final pub, the Joker.  In addition, everyone who completes the trail and registers their details will be invited to the Brakspear Ale Trail party, held in January.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies said, “We’re delighted to be bringing our popular Ale Trail to Brighton, where we have five excellent pubs serving our ales to both residents and the many visitors to the city.

“We’re confident that the Brighton Ale Trail will encourage drinkers to discover all our pubs in the city, and generate trial of our Brakspear Bitter, Oxford Gold and seasonal ales outside our core area. Certainly our experience with the ale trails in Henley and its surrounds is that they generate huge interest and loyalty among drinkers and we’re confident that the Brighton trail will become just as popular.”

The original Brakspear Ale Trail, which has been running for several years in Henley-on-Thames, has become hugely popular, with 650 drinkers completing the trail during 2014. Three Country Ale Trails covering pubs in and around Henley have now been added.

The five Brakspear pubs in Brighton are:  Chequers, Preston Street; Connaught, Hove Street; Robin Hood, Norfolk Place; Stoneham, Portland Road and the Joker, Preston Road. More details on the Ale Trail can be found at www.brightonaletrail.co.uk
