The Perfect Pint Promise is a national quality accreditation for draught beer and cider, open to every pub, bar and
operator in the UK. It sets a universal benchmark for standards in:

The accreditation is powered by Cask Marque’s trusted, independent Assessors; the same experts who have helped to protect and improve the quality and consistency of cask ale nationwide for nearly 30 years.

The Five-Step Quality Pathway
The Perfect Pint Promise is built around a structured, practical pathway designed to improve and maintain high standards.
1. Cellar Audit
A full cellar inspection scored using an eleven point Beer & Cellar Hygiene Audit. This highlights what you’re already doing well, and where simple changes can make a big difference to quality, yield and consistency.
2. Serve & Bar Area Checks
Twice-yearly checks of your bar and serving areas look at:
- Pouring technique
- Glassware suitability and condition
- Dispense equipment and practice
- General bar hygiene and presentation.
3. Beer-in-the-Glass Quality Tests
On each visit, our assessors carry out sensory checks on up to six drinks, measuring:
- Temperature – served as the brewer intended
- Appearance – clarity, head retention and presentation
- Aroma – clean and true to style
- Taste – flavour profile, freshness and overall balance.
4. Staff Training: Beer Professional e-Learning
Every membership includes access to Beer Professional, Cask Marque’s bar staff e-learning course.
This gives your team the knowledge and confidence to:
- Look after draught beer and cider correctly
- Spot and fix common quality issues
- Serve consistently great pints, every time.
5. Feedback, Insight & Ongoing Support
